Southern Philippines Rattled by Two Tremors October 26, 2007

Two earthquakes rocked southern parts of the Philippines during a two-day period, but no injuries or damage were reported.

A magnitude 5.5 quake struck before dawn on Wednesday in Tawi-Tawi province, 670 miles (1,080 km) south of Manila, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology. It was felt widely across the region.

On Tuesday, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit near General Santos City and Davao City, on Mindanao Island, but there were also no casualties or damage.
