Parts of Papua New Guinea Jolted by Quake October 26, 2007

A 6.2 magnitude quake centered in far northwestern parts of Papua New Guinea on Monday jolted residents in the neighboring Indonesian province of Papua.

The tremor struck at 1:11 p.m. Jakarta time and was centered 53 miles (86 km) southeast of the Papua capital of Jayapura.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.
